1. Who uses Sanddune's scheduling software?

Many different types of businesses and organizations use the Scheduler to streamline their scheduling process and increase their efficiency and customer service. We have Tax Services, Golf Professionals, Country Clubs, and individual business owners. Some of our clients use the Scheduler just for the employee availability functions to maintain their staff work schedules, and provide access to them over the Internet.

2. What do I need to run your scheduler software?

  1. You need a PC (or multiple PC's) with a connection to the Internet (high-speed connection is preferable)

That's it!... Your data is stored on our servers, so there is no need for complicated server installations or server software installations and updates at your locations. Our application has a built-in update mechanism, so when we release new features and updates, you have quick and no hassle updates immediately.

3. The Scheduler looks great, but it looks like it can be complicated to set up...

Our scheduling software offers many features and many customizable options. In the initial setup fee, we consult with you so that we can setup the application, working the way that you want it to right away. Once the initial setup is configured, we find that our clients have no problems adding schedules, changing configuration options, etc.

But remember that we are always just an email or phone call away if you have any questions!

4. What benefit does the Sanddune Scheduler have over a classic paper calendar/appointment book?

  • Multiple Schedules: You have access to multiple calendars at the same time. Multi-Schedule appointment books are large, bulky, and generally are limited to the number of schedules they can hold (just by sheer size...)
  • Durability: How many times do you have to tape pages, fix covers, deal with coffee spills, etc. on your paper scheduling solution? With our appointment scheduling software, you just print more copies.
  • Professionalism: Your clients will notice...
  • Security: Your client data is very important. Imagine what could happen if you lost your appointment book, or someone (possibly an employee) took your appointment book and/or contact list. Our scheduling software allows you to have centralized data access, with data secured thru logins.
  • Multiple Copies: With our appointment scheduling software, you can print any view of your appointments, as well as run reports on your appointment information. Anyone who has tried to analyze data from a month of appointments in numerous paper books knows how long of a process that can be.
  • Internet Access: You can get to your calendar from any computer with our Scheduler installed (you can install it at your home in addition to your office...) or just use our Web Calendars for access to your schedules from any Internet browser.
  • Published Employee Schedules: How often do your employees call in to the office to check on work schedules, and how much time does that take? With our staff scheduling software module you can publish employee calendars so that your employees can get to their schedules without office interruptions.

6. What if my Internet connection goes down?

We have a feature called "Offline Mode", which allows you to save your data (with configurable options) to your local system. If you lose your Internet connection, you can switch to Offline Mode, and you have full access to your appointments, with printing, with the exception of adding/editing appointments (we will be releasing an Offline Mode with editing in the near future).

7. Can appointments be double-booked?

Our conflict checking will alert you when you schedule an appointment that conflicts with an existing appointment. We do allow you (as it is sometimes necessary) to double-book, but give you the information that you need to make the decision. But "accidental" double-bookings will be a thing of the past.

8. What software do I need to run your appointment scheduling software?

All that you need to install and run the Sanddune Scheduler is a PC. Our application installer installs all of the necessary supporting files, without messing with your system settings. We support all major operating systems: Windows (from Windows 95 and up), Mac, and Linux.

You will need an Internet connection (high speed prefered - DSL, Cable, or dedicated line), and a web browser if you plan on using the Web Calendars.

9. When is your service available?

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We have multiple servers with redundancy to support our clients.

10. Is my data safe and secure?

Your data is stored on our servers, protected by routers and firewalls. We utilize fully redundant servers to provide for server outage, and data is backed up every hour, and nightly on multiple mediums.

11. How often do you update your software?

We have been adding features and updating our scheduling software regularly since its initial release. We try to do at least 1-2 application updates every month, with new features and client suggestions that are implemented. Our philosophy behind our application is to make small and frequent updates, instead of one or two updates per year that overwhelm the users with changes. We put the application through many levels of testing prior to releasing updates, to eliminate releases that introduce new bugs into the application.

12. What is the technology behind Sanddune's scheduling program?

We have built our core application on Java technology, proven in the industry to be stable, secure, and high performance. It also allows us to package and distribute our application in a manner that does not change system settings on your PC's, and also allows us to support multiple operating systems. Our Web Calendars run on Apache, the number one web server on the Internet.
